Ng Kay Yip is the Chief Executive Officer of Maran Resources, a family business that has its beginnings in the wood industry and has diversified into construction, property development and renewable energy. He is a founder of OSC Specialist Centre which specialises in orthopaedic diagnostics and surgeries. Kay Yip is also an investor and director of Bfm 89.9 and a co-founder of Jobstreet. Kay Yip is the President of the Malaysian Wood Industries Association (MWIA) and a Trustee of the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). Kay Yip graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988 with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a B.Sc. in Economics from Wharton. In 1990 he obtained his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from MIT.
